Cloud Innovation: Transforming Enterprise Data Analytics

Ramakanth Reddy Vanga has demonstrated exceptional innovation in cloud technology through his work on two transformative projects: the 360° Analytics for Accounts Payables Invoices Automation and the Databricks Integrated Data Lake for UNFI.
In his role as Senior Staff Software Engineer at Inspyrus (later acquired by MineralTree and Global Payments), Ramakanth spearheaded the development of a cutting-edge analytics platform for enterprise customers. Recognizing the need for improved invoice visibility, he introduced 360° Analytics using QlikView, initially built on an ETL approach. As the company grew from a handful of customers to over 50 enterprise clients, Ramakanth led the transition to a modern cloud-based data stack to meet increasing demands.
Ramakanth implemented a sophisticated solution incorporating Striim, DBT, and Snowflake to handle near real-time data from multiple databases. This cloud-native approach allowed for efficient processing of up to 200,000 invoices per day across multiple clusters. His work significantly contributed to the company's revenue growth, with analytics playing a major role in an 8x increase.
Following acquisitions by MineralTree and Global Payments, Ramakanth expanded the analytics capabilities to ensure HIPAA and PCI compliance for sensitive data. He proposed and implemented innovative solutions for data encryption in pipelines, allowing only authorized users to access decrypted data from BI tools like Looker and Sigma Computing.
In his current role as Manager at Fresh Gravity, Ramakanth is showcasing his cloud expertise by leading the implementation of a Databricks Integrated Data Lake for UNFI. This project involves consolidating data from multiple legacy systems into a unified cloud platform using Databricks' medallion architecture. Ramakanth's team has built a scalable framework that allows for easy addition of new data sources through configuration, streamlining the process of data ingestion and transformation.
Ramakanth's innovative use of Databricks Asset Bundles and CI/CD pipelines has enabled efficient deployment and management of cloud resources. His work has significantly improved data accessibility, security, and integrity for UNFI.
